Barrier-supporting aftercare
Facial Aftercare in Dubai: Protect the Skin Barrier
After a facial procedure in Dubai, the goal is not to make skin peel faster or immediately return to every active product. Peels and microneedling can temporarily change how skin feels and tolerates skincare. Follow the exact procedure's instructions and ask how to protect the healing barrier in your normal routine.

Get instructions for the treatment you had
Confirm the procedure name, depth or device and expected early effects before leaving. Ask which cleanser and moisturiser are appropriate, how to apply them and whether the skin needs special wound care. A deeper peel is not managed like a gentle facial. Request written instructions and a clinical contact, including what to do outside normal appointment hours.

Avoid friction and product experiments
Do not pick peeling skin, scratch crusts or add scrubs to accelerate shedding. Ask before using exfoliating acids, retinoids, fragranced products or makeup. Skin may sting with products that were previously comfortable after microneedling. Follow the agreed restart plan and tell the clinician if an advised product causes a reaction rather than adding several alternatives yourself.

Make protection fit your day
Discuss sun exposure and when sunscreen can be applied to the treated skin; the answer may depend on healing and procedure depth. Plan shade and protective clothing for unavoidable outdoor time. Ask about swimming, sweating and exercise rather than assuming there are no restrictions. If your work makes the advice unrealistic, tell the clinician so timing and care can be reconsidered.

Know when to request review
Ask what degree of redness, dryness or peeling is expected and whether it should be improving. Increasing pain, spreading redness, drainage, blisters or unexpected pigment change warrants prompt contact with the treating team. Severe facial swelling, breathing difficulty or eye symptoms needs urgent assessment. Do not interpret a worsening reaction as necessary purging or evidence of deeper treatment.

Common questions
Is more peeling a sign of a better result?
No. Visible shedding is not a reliable measure of benefit. Follow the planned care and do not intensify products to create more peeling; report unexpected symptoms.
Can I use the same aftercare after every facial?
No. A gentle cleansing treatment, superficial peel and medical microneedling affect skin differently. Confirm the instructions for this session even if previous aftercare felt familiar.
When can I wear makeup again?
Ask for guidance based on the procedure and healing rather than a fixed universal interval. Applying makeup too early after some peels can interfere with care; your team should explain the relevant limit.
